Several national organizations and a coalition are working to preserve uniform accessibility to the Internet, and to stop media consolidation by slowing down any action by the FCC or Congress that would loosen ownership caps on radio and television and allow cross ownership of newspapers and broadcast outlets in individual media markets. These organizations are also supporting legislation that pressures or requires the FCC to promote diverse, independent and minority ownership.
